Today marks a new day for the Montreal Radio Station. We loaded up a massive play list and will be applying for a commercial licence once we have obtained 100+ concurrent listener on our private servers. Until then we won’t be generating any revenues thus no need for the licence, but once we need more servers and bandwidth we will go commercial and we will apply for a commercial radio licence. Until then enjoy music without commercial breaks. We will still be featuring many local artists and un-signed artists like before, but due to popular demand we have increased our play list.

The Montreal Radio is also looking for online DJ’s to fill up some spots on our currently empty schedule. If you’re interested please leave a comment with your contact info below.

“6898 tracks in playlist, average track length: 4:09 Playlist length: 477 hours 30 minutes 21 seconds.”

Date with a Demo comes to Montreal » Indyish

Hello everyone, The link above has some information about a Songwriters Association of Canada event taking place in Montreal next week. Even if you don’t need/want to have your music reviewed, it will still be an excellent networking event to meet other artists and industry folks!

There are plenty of resources for unsigned artists all over the web, the most famous one being MySpace, it allows Artists to upload their musical contents on their profile page, and users can listen and talk about your songs. Artists can also post events schedules so that their fans can keep up to date on their show dates. There are plenty of sites alike these days.

One of the sites that I would like to promote is SYM (Showcase Your Music) as an alternative to infamous MySpace. Upload your music. Gain Exposure. Free site to get your music online.
